Schedule: 5:30AM – 2:00AM, M-F

NOVA Automation is seeking a skilled, energetic, and reliable candidate to fill the position of Bandsaw Operator! The Bandsaw Operator is responsible for operating a Bandsaw machine to cut metal, aluminum or plastic materials according to specified dimensions and tolerances. The operator ensures the accurate and safe operation of the saw, performs basic maintenance, and adheres to all safety and quality standards.

What You’ll Do:
  • Operate horizontal bandsaw machines to cut raw materials to specified lengths and dimensions.
  • Interpret and follow job orders, blueprints, work instructions, and cut lists.
  • Measure and mark material for cutting using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares.
  • Adjust machine settings, including blade tension, speed, and guides, to match material and cutting specifications.
  • Inspect finished cuts for accuracy and quality; make adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on saws, including blade changes, lubrication, and cleaning.
  • Safely handle raw materials and finished parts using forklifts, hoists, or manual methods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors
  • Report missing material to supervisor for purpose to get material on order.
  • To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.
  • To work in other departments and locations as and when required.
  • To be prepared to work outside normal working hours, including weekends sometimes at short notice.
  • Performs other duties as needed to drive to the vision, fulfill the mission and abide by the values of the organization. 
  • Unloading material using a Forklift.
  • Cutting material on table saw.
  • Cutting material on a chop saw
What You’ll Need:
  • Ability to follow proper safety protocols. 
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good literacy & numeracy skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good teamwork.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with production software (optional but preferred).
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Forklift operator experience
  • Experience with power tools and saws.
  Education and Experience:  
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience operating a bandsaw or similar machinery is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and measuring instruments.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with basic math and measurement conversions (inches to millimeters, fractions, decimals).
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 + lbs.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed 
  • Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision. 
  • Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus. 
  Physical Requirements:   
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.  
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.  
  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks. 
 Working Conditions:
  • Manufacturing or shop floor environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • May require working overtime or weekends depending on production needs.
